If you’re trying to figure out how to make your promotional campaign come alive, just look at some of the strategies Yahoo has been implementing over the past year. As part of its “start wearing purple” promotional campaign, Yahoo released 20 customized Flickr bikes across the world, each equipped with a Nokia camera phone that takes a photo every 60 seconds while the bike is in motion. The camera phone also tags snaps about where the photo was taken so that the riders can upload their journey on a Yahoo map. Products like these and other digital promotional products, such as custom web cams and promotional digital cameras, are likely to be successful since consumers will use them for a long period of time.
