As you may or may not know Google has been contending with companies utilizing the paid links concept like the notorious newcomer PayPerPost. Some state that PayPerPost’s “Get Paid for Blogging” theory is posing a threat to Google Adsense; others say the PayPerPost model is unsustainable. Both platforms earn you money; PayPerPost connects bloggers with advertisers who pay bloggers to write about their products and Adsense, an advertisement application, pays you for the number of visitors that click on relevant ads that Adsense attaches to your site.
In addition to the paid links group, Google is also completely removing Google PageRank from companies who give free promotional items to bloggers! Now, Google is punishing companies like Sumo Lounge for giving away free promotional gifts (usually a complimentary Sumo bean bag) for backlinks generators like blog reviews.
Quite the controversy in the world of search engine optimization!
